Printing On Canvas
Our canvas prints are printed on the best cotton/poly canvas on the market made by Canson Infinity. This canvas is a 390 gsm premium grade, acid-free, canvas with no optical brightening agents. Canson has submitted their canvas to the world's leading independent print permanence testing laboratory, Wilhelm Imaging Research (WIR) for longevity testing. Canson Infinity digital fine art papers and canvases have passed all five WIR print permanence tests in all conditions:
- Light stability on display
- Stability in dark storage
- Resistance to atmospheric ozone
- Resistance to high-humidity environments
- Water resistance
Furthermore, GUSHA prints with the highest quality printers on the market by Epson. The Epson 9900 is the most advanced printer available on the market for printing archival canvas and fine art works, capable of printing up to 44" wide at 2880dpi. Using the highest quality inks on the market, Epson UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta we can ensure vibrant full colour prints that have a life span of 75 years when displayed indoors.
Coating - Canvas Art
The canvases have a special polymer coating that is not only very durable but also enhances the colour and depth of the artworks. This coating is very durable but if you manage to dent it, simply leave it in the sun for half an hour and the canvas will restretch itself. If you get grubby finger marks on it or bugs leave residue on it simply wipe the canvas with a damp cloth using mild detergent.
Canvas Framing (Canvas Stretching)
The canvas is framed by hand at our office in Brookvale, Sydney. The frames (known as stretcher bars) are top quality and we will not compromise here because cheaper frames will leach acid, warp and twist over time!
Why We Love Canson Canvas
Canson Infinity encompasses a range of digital fine art media that exceeds the ISO 9706 museum grade standard and that has been developed to meet galleries and museum's longevity requirements.
The print longevity has been tested using all major pigmented ink systems including the Epson UltraChrome K3 inks with Vivid Magenta that GUSHA uses.
These comprehensive test results allow GUSHA to have all-inclusive image permanence information regarding prints produced on Canson Infinity canvas. This means we sell our work with complete confidence that prints produced on a Canson canvas will last for generations.
Acrylic Face Mounted Prints
Acrylic face mounting enhances the contrast, adds sharpness and colour saturation to photographic prints for a gloss look unobtainable by any other framing method. Acrylic face mounts are a truly stunning, unique product and will be the focal point for any room. For this reason they are suitable for contemporary homes, office spaces, hotel lobbies, and restaurants.
The process of bonding photographs to acrylic 'glass' (Plexiglass) protects the image from dirt, scratching and premature fading. This framing technique is widely displayed in museums and galleries throughout the world and remains one of the most impressive ways to showcase an image.
When light hits the layer of acrylic, the reflection on the print's surface is completely different from when a print is framed with general-purpose glass. With this unique production method the 'depth' and colour saturation of the image is optimised due to the clarity of acrylic glass. As a result the colours seem more brilliant, intense and direct, bringing a whole new dimension to the print.
At Gusha Pro face-mounting of your print creates a permanent, smooth fusion of print and 6mm acrylic glass. The technique creates an airtight bond of the print's front side to the back of acrylic. For a clean finish, the final assembly involves attaching a discrete polyester sheet behind the print. An aluminium hanging system is then attached and acts as a spacer to provide that "floating" illusion of your print when mounted to the wall.
