Maclean
Maclean is a historic town sitting on the banks of the mighty Clarence River. The heritage of ‘The Scottish Town in Australia’ is evident in tartan painted powerpoles lining the streets and the English/Gaelic street signs. The flats surrounding the Clarence are full of sugarcane fields and the Harwood Island Sugar Mill puffs away on the river’s banks as it has done for over 135 years.
